McKENZIE (July 16) — Johnny Mac, whose legal name is John Austin McDaniel, is a prominent regional country, blues, and roots rock musical performer based out of Big Sandy, Tennessee, was the featured musical performer at Nights on Broadway in downtown McKenzie.
The one-man show, Johnny Mac, performs with an acoustic guitar and adds his vocals to many cover tunes of country artists.
Johnny Mac is a frequent performer at area venues and at regional festivals.
Johnny Mac is widely recognized by locals as an engaging, authentic performer who embodies the rich, grit-and-soul musical traditions of West Tennessee.
In downtown McKenzie, he performed from a small stage erected on Banner Row as the audience sat under the canopy of trees in the downtown Veterans Memorial Park.
