Lady Bulldogs Crush Lake County, 12-2
From the Apr 14, 2026 e-EditionGLEASON (April 6) — Gleason High School hosted Lake County Monday for a district softball contest. The Lady Bulldogs scored in all but one inning to rout the Lady Falcons, 12-2, in six innings.
Lake County struck first with a run in the top of the first, but Gleason pulled ahead with four in the home half. Each team plated one run in the third. The Lady Bulldogs pulled away with two runs in the fourth, four in the fifth and a final run in the sixth to end the game.
Lady Bulldog Olivia Scarbrough was 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, two walks, two RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base. Marley Crews was 2-for-2 with two doubles, two walks and two RBIs. Zoe Healy was 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Brylee Robertson was 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases. Kinley Baumgartel was 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Presley Scott was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and two stolen bases. Ava Bennett was 1-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases. Sophie Beasley was 0-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs. Kristiana Addison was 0-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
Lady Falcon Tara Boyd was 1-for-2 with a run scored and a stolen base. Gentri Beal was 1-for-2 with a walk. Bryleigh Walls was 1-for-3. Aaliyah Shell was 0-for-1 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base. Mailee Hicks and Kaitlyn Jones were each 0-for-3 with an RBI.
Emma Pettit earned the complete-game win for Gleason, allowing two earned runs on three hits while walking two and striking out five.
Bryleigh Walls took the loss for Lake County, allowing nine earned runs on ten hits while walking three and striking out three in four innings. Kensi Hays pitched the final inning and two-thirds, allowing three earned runs on two hits and five walks.
