District 14A Girls Basketball Tournament
Lady Bulldogs Fall to Dresden in Semifinal

McKENZIE (February 22) — The Gleason High School Lady Bulldogs faced the top-seed Dresden Lady Lions Saturday in a District 14A Girls Basketball Tournament semifinal at Bethel University’s Crisp Arena. The Lady Lions pulled away early and coasted to a 69-31 win and a spot in the championship game. The Lady Bulldogs will play in the consolation game.
Dresden jumped out to a 20-6 lead after the opening frame, led by Allie Spaulding with 15 points, including a trio of three-pointers. Haylee Jarred also hit a three, and Mollie Oliver had a pair. Skylar Arnold led Gleason with four points, and Hylan Leach had a pair.
The Lady Lions had a 19-8 advantage in the second quarter, led by Jarred with eleven points. Jackie West scored six, and Gracie Adams had a pair. Lady Bulldog Brinley Lehmkuhl scored four points, and Leach and Arnold each added a pair. At the half, the Lady Lions led 39-14.
Dresden enjoyed a 21-3 tilt in the third, led by Spaulding with 12 points on four three-pointers. Kaylee Jarred scored four points, Adams hit a three, and H. Jarred added a pair. Madi Dean had a pair for Gleason, and Ahmyre Allen hit a free throw. Entering the final frame, the Lady Lions led 60-17.
The Lady Bulldogs reduced the deficit with a 14-9 rally in the fourth, led by Arnold with four points. Leach and Addy Black each hit a three, and Lehmkuhl and Dean each added a pair. Adams hit a three for Dresden, and Elizabeth Jarred and Molly Robinson each had a pair.
Lady Lion Allie Spaulding led all scorers with 27 points, including seven three-pointers. Haylee Jarred scored 17 with a three.
Skylar Arnold led Gleason with ten points.
