Lady Rebels are District Champs
Rebels Take Runner-Up Spot
From the Oct 1, 2024 e-EditionSHARON (September 23) — The District 14A High School Golf tournaments were Monday at Persimmon Hills Golf Club. The McKenzie Lady Rebels were crowned champions among three competing teams, while the Rebels were runner-up out of eight teams.
The Lady Rebels earned the title by just two strokes over Westview with a team score of 184. Charli Weatherford was the individual district champion with a score of 73. Madelyn Morris shot 111 to earn fifth overall.
The Rebels shot 309, just behind champion Westview’s 293. Ace Brown’s 72 earned fourth place as an individual. Nolan Fawcett shot 77 (fifth individually), Ethan Bradberry 78 and Carter Kee and Brady Allison 82 each.
The playoffs continued Monday, September 30 with the Region 7A tournament, also at Persimmon Hills, after The Banner’s press deadline.
