Lady Rebels Earn Three Medals, Second Overall

LEXINGTON (September 16) — The McKenzie High School cross country teams traveled Tuesday to compete in the Lexington Tiger Run.
The Lady Rebels earned second overall as a team. Abigail Wallace finished third after overcoming a foot injury in the second mile. Autumn Haywood earned fourth, and Bella Sass also medaled with a twelfth place finish. Sophie Dameron and Ava Hastings rounded out the team score. Haywood, Dameron and Hastings all ran season personal bests, along with Gracie Aird and Avery Cantrell.
The girls team improved their average from 24:49 to 24:11.
Rebel Cal Fawcett finished 24th, just missing a medal, but ran a season personal best along with Reed Little.
The boys team improved their average from 23:07 to 22:56.
The competition included 148 boys and 81 girls.
Next for McKenzie cross country is a meet in Huntingdon on Tuesday, September 23.
