Lady Rebels Edge West Carroll on Senior Night, 3-2

McKENZIE (September 23) — McKenzie High School hosted West Carroll Tuesday for a district volleyball match. It was Senior Night for the Lady Rebels, who jumped out to a two-set lead before the Lady War Eagles rallied for a 2-2 tie. McKenzie claimed the fifth set for the 3-2 victory.

Prior to the contest, four senior players and two managers were recognized on the court, joined by parents.

Senior players are Haylee Beard, daughter of April Beard and Bryan Beard; Ashley Dunavant, daughter of Melissa Oswalt and James Dunavant; Molly French, daughter of Christina French and Misty Gibson; and Raychel Oliver, daughter of Jessica Spaulding.

Senior managers are Carli Beeler, daughter of Tim Beeler and Ashley Beeler, and Carlton Townes, son of Yana Townes-Taylor and Mike Taylor.

The Lady Rebels won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-23, respectively. West Carroll took sets two and three, 25-22 and 25-20, respectively, to force a fifth set. McKenzie clinched the win with a 15-5 advantage.

Lady Rebel Jaycee Stafford had 14 kills, seven aces, two digs and an assist. Haylee Beard had three kills, seven aces and an assist. Addison Milam had eight kills and five aces. Kynadie Brown had six aces and 17 assists. Molly French had four kills, an ace and three assists. Kynlee Barden had a kill and four aces. Ava Newman had three aces and three assists. Ashley Dunavant had a kill and two digs. Natalia Taylor had a kill, a dig and an assist. Raychel Oliver had a kill and an ace.
