Lady Rebels Fall to McEwen
From the Apr 28, 2026 e-EditionMcEWEN (April 20) — McKenzie High School softball traveled Monday for a district contest against McEwen. The host Lady Warriors pulled away early for an 8-0 win.
McEwen scored two runs in the first, two in the second and four in the third.
Lady Warrior Laila Darden was 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Tylee Tummins was 1-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and one run scored. Ava Lastovka was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Carley Baker was 1-for-3 with a run scored and three stolen bases. Kylie Ange was 1-for-4 with a run scored.
Lady Rebel Ridley Holt was 1-for-2. Kynadie Brown was 1-for-3.
Ava Lastovka earned the complete-game shutout for McEwen, allowing two hits with no walks and 16 strikeouts.
Aurora Johnson took the complete-game loss for McKenzie, allowing eight runs (five earned) on six hits while walking three and striking out three.
