Lady Rebels Win Senior Night Thriller

McKENZIE (September 9) — The McKenzie High School Lady Rebel soccer team hosted the Hardin County Lady Tigers Tuesday and celebrated Senior Night. Momentum swung back and forth in the contest, but the Lady Rebels edged out a 4-3 win.

At halftime, three senior players were recognized on the field with their parents.

Katelynn Essary is the daughter of Jason and Kim Essary and a four-year member of the team. She plays defender.

Katlynn Hoffman is the daughter of Sharie Kalis and a three-year member of the team. She plays midfield and defender.

Sydney Rimmer is the daughter of Shane and Kelly Rimmer and a four-year member of the team. She plays striker and wing.

Both teams scored in the early minutes, and McKenzie added two goals late in the first half for a 3-1 lead. Hardin County tied it at 3-3 down the stretch, but the Lady Rebels quickly regained the advantage. The Lady Tigers attacked the goal in the final seconds, but McKenzie goalkeeper Alleigh Britt made a save as time expired to secure the win.

Lady Rebel Kaydynce Barksdale scored two goals. Sydney Rimmer scored a goal, and Sophie Dameron had one goal and one assist. Ava Hastings had two assists.

Goalkeeper Alleigh Britt had eight saves.
