District 13-1A Girls Basketball Tournament
Lady War Eagles Top Bradford
From the Feb 24, 2026 e-EditionHUMBOLDT (February 21) — The West Carroll High School Lady War Eagles finished third in the District 13-1A Girls Basketball Tournament with a 57-41 win over Bradford in Saturday’s consolation game.
The Lady War Eagles had an 11-9 edge after the opening frame, but the Lady Red Devils rallied to lead 21-19 at the half. West Carroll took control with a 17-5 tilt in the third and clinched the win with a 21-15 advantage in the final frame.
Lady War Eagle Kinsley Poff led all scorers with 20 points, including six three-pointers. Aubrey Hammett scored 13 with a trio of threes. Chloe Rimmer had ten points with a three-pointer. Marissa Mueller scored five points, and Gracelyn Vernon had four. Alayna Lovelace scored three points, and Hailey Mitchell and Tatum Perry each hit a free throw.
MK Wilkes led the Lady Red Devils with 12 points, including a pair of threes.
The Lady War Eagles will open region play Friday, February 27 on the road against Dresden. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
