McKENZIE — Career-long educators at McKenzie Special School District are the grand marshals of the McKenzie High School Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 25.

Larry Joe Smith, a retired high school teacher and coach of basketball, baseball, and golf. His wife, Tiffany taught at the McKenzie Elementary School. Both were selected to acknowledge their contribution to the McKenzie Special School District. 

The parade begins at 12:30 p.m. in downtown McKenzie and proceeds along Cedar, Stonewall, and then loops past the McKenzie Elementary School.

The annual crowning of the homecoming queen is at 6:30 p.m. with kickoff for the McKenzie Rebels at 7 p.m.

A multi-decade informal school reunion is also held at Rebel Stadium just ahead of the football game. It is sponsored by the McKenzie High School Alumni Association.
