McKenzie Blanks Stewart County, 3-0
From the Apr 7, 2026 e-EditionDOVER (April 3) — Stewart County High School hosted McKenzie baseball Friday for a battle of Rebels versus Rebels. A three-run second inning was all McKenzie needed to claim a 3-0 win.
McKenzie's Maddox Shiell was 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored. Aiden Legens was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Xander Johnsey was 2-for-3 with a walk. Fletcher Holt was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Parker Ross was 0-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base.
Stewart County's Anthony Bisogno was 2-for-3. Jonathan Byrd and Collin Henry were each 1-for-3. Ben Hendricks was 1-for-4.
Xander Johnsey earned the win for McKenzie, allowing no runs on two hits while walking none and striking out one in three innings. Avery Brown threw four innings of relief, allowing no runs on three hits while walking one and striking out two.
Ben Hendricks took the loss for Stewart County, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits while walking two and striking out nine in six innings. Brigham Page pitched the final frame, allowing no runs on one hit with no walks.
