McKenzie High Alumni Reunion set for September 25-26, 2026
The McKenzie High School Alumni Association (MHSAA) is in the final stages of planning its third annual Decades Reunion weekend on September 25-26, 2026.
Activities include a golf scramble, the MHS homecoming parade, a tailgate party reunion at Rebel Stadium for all MHS alumni prior to the homecoming football game, the McKenzie High Historical Exhibit, and reunion gatherings during the weekend for ten MHS classes (1966, 1971, 1976, 1979, 1986, 1996, 2001, 2006, 2010 and 2016). A reunion event for MHS alumni of the 1950’s and ‘60’s will be held on Saturday morning from 9-11:30 at the McKenzie Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
On Friday afternoon at 2, the Carroll County Historical Society will present the commemorative video of McKenzie’s “Homecoming ‘86” celebration (40th Anniversary) at the historic Park Theatre. The Park Theatre will also be the location on Saturday at 3 p.m. of a Round Table Discussion to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the McKenzie Rebel baseball team’s 2006 state championship season. Live music is scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. at Hometown Hangout.
The golf scramble will be at Carroll Lake Golf Club at 8 a.m. on Friday, September 25. The entry fee is $200 per team of four, and registration information is available at Carroll Bank and Trust in McKenzie (731-352-2282). Businesses and organizations may purchase sponsorships for $100.
The Gordon Browning Museum in downtown McKenzie is hosting the McKenzie High School Historical Exhibit, available Wednesday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from August 19 through October 3. There will be extended hours during the reunion weekend, and an open house from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 24. On display are many artifacts and stories celebrating the alumni and rich history of McKenzie High.
McKenzie High alumni may join the MHSAA at the tailgate party. Dues are $10/annually or $100/lifetime, and payable by cash, check (to “MHSAA”), or via Venmo to MHSAA Treasurer Lauren Hickman (Class of 2007–@labhickman). If you are a graduate and are unable to attend the reunion weekend but still wish to join, dues or donations may be mailed to:
MHSAA
114 W. Bell Avenue
McKenzie TN 38201.
Please include your full name and year of graduation with your payment.
Additional donations will be accepted on behalf of the MHSAA to support its mission of fundraising for annual scholarships and financial donations to support students in need in the McKenzie school system.
The only cost of the tailgate party is the price of admission to the football game ($7) as the reunion will be located inside Rebel Stadium. Food trucks will be on site. The MHSAA will also have original pieces of flooring from the McKenzie High and Middle School gym (1954-2025) available for purchase at the tailgate party for $20 each.
