McKenzie, Huntingdon Bands Rank in Tennessee Small Bands Championship

THOMPSON’S STATION, Tenn. — Tennessee Small Bands Division I competition was held at Independence High School on Saturday, November 1. Sixteen bands competed.
McKenzie earned fourth place in competition while Huntingdon placed at sixth place.

Preliminary (Round 1 of 2) Competition: Superior Rated Drum Major, Superior Rated Color Guard; Superior Rated Percussion; Superior Rated Band
McKenzie was one of only three band programs to receive superior ratings in all captions.
In Finals Competition, McKenzie was 2nd Place Overall Drum Major (Katelynn Essary); 2nd Place Overall Percussion; 4th Place Overall Band for two years in a row.
The top 10 bands were: 10 - Harpeth (70.0); 9 - Waverly (70.95); 8 - Scotts Hill (71.5); 7 - Jackson Christian (75.25; 6 - Huntingdon (77.425; 5 - Gibson County (80.55); 4 - McKenzie (81.65); 3 - Peabody (82.6); 2 - Lakeway (84.1); 1 - Adamsville (84.5) State Champion

Paris Landing Arts and Crafts Festival is September 12-13
The 26th annual Paris Lakeway Kiwanis Club Arts and Crafts Festival at Paris Landing State Park features over 115 local and regional crafters displaying and selling their handmade and hand-crafted items. The setting at Paris Landing State Park provides visitors with great views while shopping. There will also be food and beverage vendors, as well as a petting zoo. Admission and parking are free.
