McKenzie Middle Honors Eighth Graders as Basketball Season Wraps

McKENZIE (December 1) — Eighth grade players, managers, cheerleaders and pep band performers were honored Monday as McKenzie Middle School concluded the basketball regular season.
29 eighth graders were joined on the court by family members for recognition between the boys' and girls' games against Gleason.
Pep band members included Lily Baker, daughter of Bryan and April Baker; Riley Crafton, grandson of James R. and Anette Mason; Finnian Evans, son of Andrew Evans and Megan Doggit; Zach Fuller, son of Ronny Smith and Beth Prudeme; Nevaeh Herris, daughter of Keith and Melissa Herris; Katelyn Martin, daughter of Jennifer Martin; Zatiyah Jade Milton, daughter of Sarah and Kiandre Milton; Charles Scott, son of Charles Johnathan Scott and Amy Peters; and Caitlin Umstead, daughter of Joseph Umstead and Ashley Corvin.
Rebel players included Fisher Allen, son of Jeremy and Megan Allen; Jackson Barden, son of Justin and Alyson Barden; Lane Brown, son of Chad and Josie Brown; Dierks Ghyers, son of Mark and Michelle Ghyers; Andres Hernandez, son of Guillermo and Angelica Hernandez; Jai'Breon Horton, son of Shenneka Horton; Kamdyn Lee, son of William and Laura Lee; Seth Stafford, son of Brian and Jana Stafford; Zayden Webb, son of Michael Webb and Ashley Johnson; and manager Javonte Piro, son of Heather Piro.
Lady Rebel players included Abby Carroll, daughter of Paul and Ashley Carroll; Charlie Cassidy, daughter of George and Angela Cassidy; Serenity Bobo, daughter of Lavonia Whitsell and James Bobo; Adrianna Gordon, daughter of David Gordon and Ashley Gordon; Kristy Towne, daughter of Chazz and Julia Prestwood and Devin Towne; Willow Stenberg, daughter of Josh and Brittany Stenberg; and manager Bella Batton, daughter of Chad and Josephina Batton.
Cheerleaders included Caleigh Ball, daughter of Tony Ball; Sami Mathis, daughter of Jason and Beth Mathis; Margaret Webb, daughter of Andrew and Josi Webb; and Adrianna Gordon, daughter of David Gordon and Ashley Gordon.

Rebels Fall to Minutemen
LEXINGTON (August 18) — The McKenzie Middle School Rebels traveled Tuesday to face Lexington Middle School football at Caywood Elementary. The host Minutemen stopped a deep Rebel drive to start the game, then took control on both sides of the ball en route to a 36-0 win.

ATWOOD (August 13) — The West Carroll Junior High War Eagles hosted South Fulton Middle School Thursday night. The visiting Red Devils were in control and kept the lead throughout for a 36-6 final.

HUNTINGDON (August 16) — The McKenzie Shooting Sports team gathered Sunday at the Carroll County Shooting Sports Park to celebrate a successful season. Shooters were presented with awards earned at matches throughout the season.
