McKenzie Police Reports

Driving on Revoked License — Thomas Augustus Harris, 70, Highland Drive, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Revoked License, Expired Registration and Violation of the Light Law on October 9.

Officer Matthew Cunningham initiated the traffic stop after one of Harris’ headlights was not illuminated. During the stop, it was determined that Harris’ license was a Revoked Habitual Offender due to a DUI and was revoked since 1989. The vehicle also had expired tags. Harris was transported to Carroll County Jail.

Driving on a Suspended License — Amber Rose Dawley, 26, Winchester Street, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License, Speeding, Expired Registration and Violation of Financial Responsibility on October 10.

Officer Dustin McClure stopped Dawley’s speeding vehicle and learned her license was suspended in April for failure to file insurance. She was cited to Carroll County General Sessions.

Driving on Revoked License — Montryll Maurice Robinson, 28, Reynolds Street, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on Revoked License Due to a DUI, Failure to Stop at Stop Sign, on October 7.

Officer Dustin McClure stopped Robinson’s vehicle after it failed to stop. A check of Robinson’s license revealed the revoked status. He was transported to Carroll County Jail and the vehicle was impounded.

Dogs Running at Large — Rodger Dale Lawson, 35, Florida Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with Dogs Running at Large after the dog reportedly bit a four-year-old boy and his mother as they were on a walk on October 8.

Officer Timothy Dillon responded to Florida Court to speak with the victims. The mother said the dog attacked her son, and when she attempted to pull the dog away, it attacked her.

Mr. Lawson was recently cited into court because the same dog bit someone else.

Lawson was cited into General Sessions Court for the October 8 incident.

Criminal Trespass — Maurice Lawrence, 31, of McKenzie, was charged with Criminal Trespass on October 10.

Officer Jayden Rembert witnessed Lawrence walking through the parking lot of a convenience store, where Lawrence was banned from the premises. Lawrence was transported to Carroll County Jail.

Abandoned Credit Cards — Officer Tanner Jackson was dispatched to an empty downtown business location where a real estate agent found some abandoned credit cards inside the building. A search of the crime computer system produced no reports of fraud.
