McKenzie Police Reports

Outstanding Warrants — John Othello Hightower, Jr., 39, Cole Street, McKenzie, was arrested on outstanding warrants of four counts of Forgery, False Reports, and Financial Exploitation of an Elderly/Vulnerable Person on July 10.

Officer Dustin McClure and Assistant Chief Trey Boucher witnessed Hightower driving and knew of his active warrants in Weakley County. They arrested Hightower and transported him to Carroll County Jail.

DUI-4th Offense, Driving on Revoked License — Rodney H. Townes, 56, Sand Mill Road, Camden, was charged with DUI. Driving on a Revoked License, and Driving on Wrong Side of Street on July 9.

Officer Jayden Rembert witnessed Townes’ vehicle stopped in the middle of Walnut Avenue and then proceed on the wrong side of the city street. The officer stopped Townes, administered a sobriety test and then arrested him. Townes refused the blood-alcohol blood draw. He had been convicted of DUI in 2020 in Benton County. He was transported to Carroll County Jail and his vehicle was impounded.

Driving on Suspended License — Isabel Marisol Guzman, 19, Hidden Acres Road, Paris, was charged with Speeding and Driving on a Suspended License on July 11.

Sergeant Darren Davis stopped Guzman’s vehicle for traveling 51 in a 30-mile-per-hour zone. A check of her license revealed that it was suspended. She was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court.

Driving on Revoked — Billy E. Borum, 52, Everett Street, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Revoked License Due to DUI and Seat Belt Violation on July 10.

Officer Dustin McClure stopped Borum’s vehicle because the driver was not wearing a seat belt. A check of his license revealed the revoked status. Borum was transported to Carroll County Jail.

Violation of Probation — Nicholas M. Snider, 46, Birmingham Lane, was charged with Violation of Probation on July 11.

Sergeant Darren Davis stopped Snider due to a malfunctioning headlight. When he stopped the vehicle, he learned of the Violation of Probation charge. She was transported to Weakley County Jail.

Vandalism — A Forrest Circle resident reported the vandalism of her vehicle on July 9. Two of the lady’s tires had been flattened by an apparent stabbing of the tires. Investigator Steven Scott filed the report.
