McKenzie Police Reports

Driving on Suspended License — Jimmy L. Fuzzell, 63, Walnut Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License and Seat Belt Violation on July 23.

Officer Dustin McClure stopped Fuzzell's vehicle and verified his license was suspended. He was cited into court

Theft of Merchandise — Keith Cunningham, 54, Hazel, Kentucky, was charged with Theft of Merchandise on July 20.

Officer Darren Davis was dispatched to Dollar General, Highway 22, where the cashier showed the officer surveillance video of Cunningham taking items of merchandise, including fruit, potato chips, a Bic lighter, lemonade, and a sling chair. Cunningham was observed walking along State Route 22 and was stopped by the officer, who then arrested him and transported him to the Henry County Jail.

Domestic Assault — Tariq H. Jones, 24, Walnut Circle, McKenzie, was charged with Domestic Assault on July 24.

Sergeant Tanner Jackson responded to Park Circle, where the female victim resided, after MPD received a 911 call from the victim. She stated Jones violently pushed items off a kitchen counter in her direction and later assaulted her. The two were reportedly in a relationship. Mr. Jones was arrested and transported to Carroll County Jail.

Illegal Vehicle Squatting — Joshua M. Cochran, 19, Cedar Grove, was charged with Bumper Height Alteration and Illegal Window Tint on July 24.

Officer Dustin McClure stopped Cochran's Chevrolet Silverado because the bumper height was illegal. On the truck, it had a decal that read "Carolina Squat." The driver reportedly told the officer he knew the vehicle's suspension was illegal and he hadn't had time to correct it.

Cochran was cited into court on both charges.

Vandalism — A Stonewall Circle resident was the victim of vandalism to her vehicle caused by an egg thrown on it.

Officer Dustin McClure was dispatched to the residence on July 24, to view the vehicle. A male resident took a photo of the egg on the vehicle and then washed it to prevent additional damage. After the wash, a half-dollar-sized crack was discovered in the paint. The victims indicated they would file charges against the perpetrators. There were additional reports of vandalism by eggs filed by the Carroll County Sheriff's Department outside the city limits.
