From the Mar 31, 2026 e-EditionDomestic Assault — Matthew Bell, Park Circle, McKenzie, was charged with Domestic Assault on March 25.
Officer Sergeant Darren Davis was dispatched to and responded to Walnut Circle, where a domestic assault was reported to be in progress. Bell’s girlfriend said he had assaulted her, broke her phone, and disabled her vehicle after an argument. Bell denied the assault but confessed to disabling her car. Bell was arrested for Domestic Assault and Vandalism and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Theft — Samantha Ann Hughes, Walnut Circle, McKenzie, was charged with Theft of Property on March 26.
Officer Matthew Cunningham responded to the Eagle convenience store, where he viewed a surveillance video of Hughes and a male entering the store and then driving away in her automobile. The male is accused of stealing a glass pipe and some other merchandise. Hughes denied knowing the man and said she was only giving him a ride. She was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court.
