From the Apr 21, 2026 e-EditionDriving on Canceled License — Theotis Staten, Walnut Circle, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Canceled License on April 15.
Officer Michael Cunningham observed Staten disregard a stop sign and initiated a traffic stop. A check of Staten’s license revealed it was canceled. He was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court.
Theft — A resident of Oaklawn Drive reported the theft of several items from the residence on or about April 13. Stolen were porch rails, trailer hitches, two breaking plows - all valued at $970.
Natural Death — On April 16, McKenzie Police officers responded to an Elm Street address where a female was unresponsive. Family members were in attendance and the home health worker, who noted the lady had a do-not-resuscitate document in effect. EMS and the coroner responded.
