Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment — James T. Whitson, Whiskey Ridge Lane, Paris, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment on October 1.

McKenzie Police Department received a call that Whitson was following a vehicle occupied by three people. Whitson had reportedly closely followed the vehicle from Milan and then aggressively cut in front of them in the drive-through lane at a fast food restaurant and got out of his vehicle to confront the female driver, who struck Whitson in the face. Whitson reportedly returned to his vehicle and retrieved a knife. That’s when the victim drove away and Whitson gave pursuit. The restaurant’s surveillance cameras recorded the incident.

Officer Michael Cunningham was dispatched and MPD officers observed the vehicles driving at a high rate of speed, and initiated a stop and arrested Whitson.

Criminal Impersonation — Steven Anthony Savoy, Union Church Road, McKenzie, was charged with Criminal Impersonation on October 1.

Officer Timothy Dillon observed Savoy running on top of the railroad overpass over Highland Drive. When the officer stopped Savoy, he claimed he did not have any identification and provided a different name for identification. Officers learned his real name and arrested him on an outstanding warrant for Violation of Probation and added a new charge of Criminal Impersonation.
