McKenzie School Board to Install New Members
From the Aug 25, 2026 e-EditionMcKENZIE — The McKenzie Special School District Board of Education will install four elected members from the August election and elect its officers when the board meets Tuesday, September 1, at 5:30 p.m. in the MSSD Board Room.
The elected board members Matt Lane, Spiros Roditis, Brian Stafford and Brian Winston are scheduled to be installed during the meeting. The board will then elect a chairman, vice chairman and treasurer. Members will also select a Tennessee Legislation Network member and alternate.
Other actionable items include consideration of updated MSSD travel regulations covering lodging and meal reimbursement rates and approval of an MSSD Facility Use Agreement.
The board will also consider on first reading amendments to two policies in the McKenzie Special School District Board of Education Policy Manual. The proposed changes involve Policy 3.206, Community Use of School District Facilities, and Policy 4.600, Grading System.
The meeting will include an opportunity for public comments on actionable agenda items or matters under the school board’s jurisdiction. Public comments are limited to 15 minutes under MSSD Board Policy 1.404.
Director of Schools Justin Barden will give the director’s report before adjournment.
The MSSD Board of Education consists of Misty Aird, Chad Brown, Karen Fowler, Matt Lane, Spiros Roditis, Brian Stafford and Brian Winston.
