McKenzie Schools to Have Budget Workshop
From the Jun 23, 2026 e-EditionMcKENZIE — The McKenzie Special School District (MSSD) Board of Education meets Tuesday, June 30, in the MSSD Central Office for a budget workshop followed by a regular board meeting.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the school board will have a preliminary discussion of MSSD’s 2026-27 budget. The official budget approval meeting is Tuesday, July 7, at 5:30 p.m.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., the June 30 meeting will change course, becoming a regular board meeting.
The following new business items are listed on the regular meeting agenda:
- Consider for approval McKenzie SSD budget amendment(s) (25-26 year-end).
- Consider for approval General Fund Expense Accounts for MES, MMS and MHS.
- Consider for approval, on Second Reading, amendments to the McKenzie Special School District Board of Education Policy Manual: 1.804 Drug-Free Workplace, 2.400 Revenues, 5.114 Personnel Records, 5.200 Separation Practices for Tenured Teachers, 5.201 Separation Practices for Non-Tenured Teachers, 5.202 Separation Practices for Non-Certified Employees, 5.400 Personnel Health Examinations/Communicable Diseases, 5.403 Drug & Alcohol Testing for Employees, 5.606 Staff-Community Relations, 5.608 Tutoring for Pay, 5.800 Director of Schools.
- Consider for approval use of Standards-based Progress Monitoring (report cards) for kindergarten at McKenzie Elementary School.
- Consider for approval McKenzie Elementary gym floor upgrades.
- Consider for approval bid request process for Back-Flow Preventors at McKenzie Middle, Maintenance Shop, and McKenzie High Outdoor Classroom.
- Consider for approval replacement of perimeter fence at MSSD football field/practice field(s).
- Consider for approval flooring option/bid for MMS restrooms update.
