McKenzie Advances in Thriller Over West Carroll

McKENZIE (October 6) — McKenzie High School hosted West Carroll Monday for the first round of the District 12A Volleyball Tournament. Momentum swung wildly in the match, which went all five sets for a 3-2 Lady Rebel win.
The Lady War Eagles took the first set, 25-21, but McKenzie won the next two, 25-8 and 25-16 to grab the lead. West Carroll bounced back for a 25-14 advantage in set four, forcing a fifth and decisive set. The Lady Rebels pulled ahead after the early points and sealed it with a 15-8 tilt.
Lady Rebel Jaycee Stafford had eleven kills, six aces, three digs and an assist. Kynadie Brown had a kill, ten aces, a dig and 13 assists. Addison Milam had four kills, eight aces and a block. Ridley Holt had two kills, five aces, an assist and a block. Molly French had five aces. Haylee Beard had two kills, two aces and a dig. Ashley Dunavant and Maggie Hall each had four digs.
Individual stats for West Carroll were unavailable.
With the loss, the Lady War Eagles are eliminated.
McKenzie advanced to the second round against tournament host Huntingdon the following night.
