McKenzie's Shop With A First Responder is December 15

McKenzie's annual Shop With a First Responder event is Monday, December 15, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The first responders will meet the children at Long Heights Baptist Church, from which they will travel to Huntingdon Walmart, giving the children the opportunity to ride in police cars and fire trucks and even speak over the vehicles' P.A. systems.

Thanks to the many donations sent to City of McKenzie's Christmas for Kids program, the first responders are able to shop with 61 children and donate gifts to 20 additional children in McKenzie.

This year, the first responders will also provide holiday meals to Christmas for Kids families, thanks to donations from E.W. James & Sons Supermarkets. The meals include hams paid for by the city's Christmas for Kids donation funds. 

The City of McKenzie is still accepting monetary donations for the Christmas for Kids program. Checks must be made to the City of McKenzie Christmas for Kids and can be dropped off at McKenzie City Hall.
