McKenzie Elementary Fall Festival Raises $27,567

McKENZIE (October 25) — McKenzie Elementary School PTO hosted its annual Fall Festival Saturday, raising $27,567 for the school.

Kids enjoyed games, activities, candy, snacks and a costume contest.

During the event, the Fall Festival King and Queen were announced from among nominees from each class.

The king, having raised $1,225, was Drake Simmons. The queen, with a total of $2,260, was Hazel Tippitt.

Nominees raised a total of $19,627.

The costume contest included eight categories.

Ages 0-2: First Place - Lillian Dodd; Second Place - Ruby Kate Kee; Third Place - Kohen Seavers.

Ages 3-4: First Place - Kase Seavers; Second Place - Penelope Peachey; Third Place - Tenley Russell.

Kindergarten: First Place - Tuck Merrick; Second Place - Matti Bennett; Third Place - Derek Artymovich.

First Grade: First Place - Harley Trevathan; Second Place - Addie Carroll; Third Place - Harper Gail Waddell.

Second Grade: First Place - Kaci McCaig; Second Place - Piper Russell; Third Place - Emmy Eaton.

Third Grade: First Place - Beckman Warren; Second Place - Laylah Waller; Third Place - Emerie Monteith.

Fourth Grade: First Place - Easton Webb; Second Place - Riley Barksdale; Third Place - Rachel Parham.

Groups/Families: First Place - Avery and Owen Winston; Second Place - Callie and Mack Hatcher; Third Place - Merrick and Mary Drew Couch.

Ashley Beeler of Hometown Hangout was the emcee for the contest. Judges were Education students of former MES principal Amanda Batts at UT Martin.

Besides MES staff and parents, MHS Beta students helped with games and MMS cheerleaders did facepainting.
