McKenzie High Hosts 30th Annual Honors Banquet

McKENZIE (April 1) — McKenzie High School hosted its 30th annual Honors Banquet on Tuesday, April 1 in the schools gymnasium. The annual event is sponsored by the McKenzie Rotary Club, that sponsored a pre-event meal for the honorees and provided the four-year plaques.

Students in grades 9 - 12, who have achieved a 95 or better grade average for the previous three nine-week grading period, who has satisfactory attendance and conduct, are invited as honorees for the event.

Christy Williams, president of the McKenzie Rotary Club, welcomed the students, parents and other guests to the annual event. Two of the local Rotary Club’s goals are ‘dedicated to the youth’ and ‘committed to academic excellence.’

The local service club also presented a $1,000 scholarship to senior Lydia Pate to attend the college of her choice.
