McKenzie High School’s annual Future Farmers of America (FFA) Plant Sale began Friday, April 3, in the FFA Greenhouse behind the high school. The sale continues during school hours (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.) this week, ending Friday, April 10.

All semester, agriculture teacher Lindsey Parham and her greenhouse management and agriscience classes tended to the young plants in the school’s greenhouse, preparing them for the big sale. Now, the plants are bright, colorful and ready for planting.

In addition to plants, shoppers can purchase eggs from school-raised chickens.

During school hours, shoppers are asked to ring the greenhouse doorbell for assistance. It plays “Take Me Home, Country Roads” for Parham’s classes, indicating for Parham or a student volunteer to step out of class and offer some help.

Proceeds from the plant sale go to support McKenzie High School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter and agriculture classes.

Several area schools’ FFA chapters will hold their plant sales later this month, on Saturday, April 18:

• Dresden High School, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• Henry County High School, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• West Carroll Jr./Sr. High School, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Clarksburg School April 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
