MHS Theater Presents ‘A Christmas Extravaganza’

McKENZIE (December 14-15) — The McKenzie High School Theater department presented “A Christmas Extravaganza” with shows on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
The show consisted of two one-act plays.
“How Santa Got His Christmas Tree” is set in Santa’s workshop just before Christmas and tells the story of two misguided elves disrupting Mrs. Claus’ plans to gift Santa his first Christmas tree.
“North Pole’s Got Talent” is a festive take on the reality competition with performances by elves, reindeer and antagonists Jack Frost and the Snow Queen.
Cast members included Zoey Morgan, Wyatt Risner, Matthias Pierce, Cheyanthony Risner, Molly Drewry, Katelyn Prather, Leah Harrison, Molly Drewry, JD Hitt, Maria Bell, Carlton Townes, Chloe Hitt, Devon Armstrong, Brayden Priddy, Maddison Mann, Abby Hamm, Xander Morgan and McKenzie Risner.
The stage manager was Tobey Brooks. The set crew were Jasmine Curtis, Jayden Curtis and Natalie Herris.
Hair and makeup were done by Madelynn Pewitt, Kailynn Cowan and Emma Haynes. Lighting and set design were by Jack Hardwick and Dalton McKinnie.
Set and design assistance was provided by Denise Sam. Sound assistance was provided by Ben Wolski.
The MHS Theater department is under the direction of Billie Jo Hardwick.

Paris Landing Arts and Crafts Festival is September 12-13
The 26th annual Paris Lakeway Kiwanis Club Arts and Crafts Festival at Paris Landing State Park features over 115 local and regional crafters displaying and selling their handmade and hand-crafted items. The setting at Paris Landing State Park provides visitors with great views while shopping. There will also be food and beverage vendors, as well as a petting zoo. Admission and parking are free.
