McKenzie High School Hosts Annual Veterans Day Program

McKENZIE (November 11) — McKenzie High School’s Student Council sponsored the annual Veteran’s Day program in the gymnasium. Area veterans were invited to be honored as part of the annual ceremony.
The program included speeches, music, presentation of the flags by the Boy Scouts, and the recognition of veterans.
Program speakers included Emma Smith, president of the Student Council, Carlton Townes, Tobey Brooks, Madelyn Morris, Bailey Barden, Alex Hughes, Ryan Toombs, and Abbi Ghyers.
Sophie Cole presented the special vocal music and the MHS Band provided patriotic music.
Allen Craddock, a Vietnam veteran, was the featured speaker. Craddock resides in Union City and is the father of Jennifer Craddock Travis and grandfather to Craegen Travis, both at McKenzie High School.
Madelyn Morris, the local VFW Voice of Democracy winner, presented her winning speech at the event.
Lola Barton played Taps to close out the formal ceremony.
