Morris E. Groves, Jr.

McKENZIE, Tenn. -   Funeral services for Morris E. Groves, Jr., are Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Binkley Ross Funeral Home, Marion, Ill.. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Odd Fellow Cemetery, Marion, Ill.

Mr. Groves, 73, died Sunday, December 15, 2024, at his residence. He is a retired custodian for Gleason, Tenn. schools and McKenzie Elementary School. He was born in Metropolis, Ill. on April 4, 1951, to the late Morris E. Groves and Lora McDaniels Groves.

He is survived by his wife, Fay Groves of McKenzie, two daughters, Angel (William) Phillips of Chester, Ill., and Tonya (Kris) Presler of Herrin, Ill. a son, John (Ravyn) Taylor of Simpsonville, South Carolina, three sisters, Irene Anderson of Marion, Ill., Jane Sills of McComb, Ill., and Diane Groves of Arizona., three brothers, Billy Groves of Marion, Ill, Everett Groves of Cincinnati, Ohio and Raymond Groves of Carterville, Ill., ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tammy Groves, sisters, Dinah Dollar and Judy Krasselt and brothers, Terry Groves and John Logan Groves.
