District 14A Golf Tournament
Rebels Claim Team, Individual Titles

SHARON (September 22) — The McKenzie High School Rebels are the District 14A champions after a strong performance in the district tournament held at Persimmon Hills Golf Course Monday, led by individual district champion Nolan Fawcett.
With 13 teams competing, McKenzie defeated runner-up Westview by seven strokes and third-place Union City by 12.
Fawcett claimed the individual title with a score of 71. Ethan Bradberry shot a 73, good for third overall. Ace Brown (83) and Brady Allison (84) rounded out the team scoring.
The team advanced to the Region 7A Tournament, held Monday at Tennessee River Golf Club in Decaturville. (Results were unavailable before The Banner's press deadline.)
Advancing to the state tournament are the region champion team and the top three individuals from the rest of the field.
The Rebels look for their second consecutive state berth following a five-year drought.
