Rebels Volleyball Falls to Waverly in Three Sets

McKENZIE — The McKenzie Lady Rebels volleyball team fell to Waverly in three sets Monday, August 31, dropping its overall record to 4-3. McKenzie remains 3-0 in district play.

Waverly took the opening set 25-14 before McKenzie battled to a close 25-22 loss in the second set. Waverly closed the match with a 25-9 victory in the third.

Jaycee Stafford led McKenzie offensively with five kills while adding six digs and one ace. Braylin Auvenshine recorded four kills, three blocks and one ace.

Kynadie Brown led the Rebels with 10 digs and eight assists while adding two aces and one kill. Addison Milam finished with three blocks, two kills, two assists and one ace. Charlie Cassidy added eight digs, one kill, one block and one ace.

The McKenzie junior varsity team also fell to Waverly in two sets, 25-13 and 25-23, dropping its record to 4-3.

Kynlee Barden led the JV squad with 11 digs and four aces while adding two kills. Sami Mathis recorded eight digs, and Willow Stenberg added six digs and two kills. Charlie Cassidy contributed three aces and two blocks.
