Two Ribbon Cuttings This Week

Carroll County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Haven Steel Products, 25570 Highway 22, on Friday, June 11, 10 a.m. and McKenzie Chamber of Commerce is hosting a ribbon-cutting at Hometown Hangout on Highland Drive, adjacent to Gary Simmons’ car dealership on Wednesday, June 9, 4 p.m.
Haven Steel Products was previously known as Cutting Specialists, Inc. It manufactures lawn mower blades, rotary mower blades and flail mower blades (along with related parts) for original equipment manufacturers and distributors. Located in the Henry County portion of McKenzie, the company moved into a new 110,000 sq. ft. facility in 2005. The McKenzie location was originally started as SACO and owned by Terry Blakemore of McKenzie.
Haven Steel Products is a privately-owned company producing spring steel components since 1969. The company fabricates and heat treats components for the agricultural industry (tillage components), the construction industry (landscaping and mowing components), the trailer industry (leaf springs), and many other clients.
Haven Steel has diversified its product range to include: agricultural tillage components, patio furniture, chair legs, railroad wear plates, seat springs, playground equipment components, loading dock bumpers, trash recycling chopper knives, grounds-keeping aerator knives, trailer hitch weight equalizing springs, industrial and agricultural rotary cutter blades.
Hometown Hangout provides an outdoor venue for ice cream, shaved ice and more. It is owned by Drew Beeler. It offers outdoor seating and games.
