Robert Monroe Orr

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Monroe Orr are on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Tumbling Creek Baptist Church in Gleason, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends at Tumbling Creek Baptist Church in Gleason, Tennessee on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Interment will take place at Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason.


Mr. Orr, 80, was born October 5, 1945, in McKenzie, Tennessee, to the late Eck Orr and Geneva Bratton Orr. After graduating from McKenzie High School, he continued his education at Bethel University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He began his career as an educator and served as the first principal of the vocational school in Dresden, Tennessee. He later worked for Replogle Enterprises for 29 years as a Timber Operations and Sales Manager. 


Mr. Orr married Beverly Dunn Orr, and together they shared 29 years of marriage. He was a faithful member of Tumbling Creek Baptist Church and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. Known for his organization and attention to detail, Mr. Orr appreciated having everything in its proper place. He also took great pride in his appearance and was always dressed to the nines, with a distinct sense of style and an eye for the perfect accessories. His polished appearance reflected the care and intention he brought to every part of his life.


Mr. Orr is survived by his wife, Beverly Orr; two sons, Justin Melton and Jantzen Melton, both of Gleason; three grandchildren, Taylore (Kyle) Crawford, Tanner Melton, and Brantzen Melton, all of Gleason; and his special cousin, Rachel Blake of Paris.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Cooper, and his brother-in-law, Wayne Cooper.
