Shane Barksdale

McKENZIE, Tenn. — Funeral services for Shane Barksdale are on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday, from10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie. 

Mr. Barksdale, 41 years old, died at Baptist Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. He was born on May 2, 1985, in Jackson to Mark and Ann Spellings Barksdale. He is a graduate of McKenzie High School, Class of 2004, a member of First Baptist Church McKenzie, and the owner of Barksdale Lawn Service. Shane enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tubing on the lake.  He loved taking his kids with him most of all.

He is survived by his parents, Mark and Ann Barksdale of McKenzie; his partner, Kristian Kornegay; one son, Drake Barksdale; four daughters, Isabella Barksdale, Tynleigh Kornegay, Riley Barksdale, and Avery Barksdale; one brother, Shay (Christine) Barksdale; a niece, Kaydynce Barksdale; and a nephew, Barrett Barksdale.  He is preceded in death by his sister, Shelby Barksdale.
