From the Jun 4, 2024 e-EditionEvading Arrest — Jeremy Vinyard, 35, of Atwood, was served a warrant for arrest. As deputies were pulling into the driveway to arrest Vinyard, two men were working on a vehicle and one of them, Vinyard, ran into the house. Vinyard then exited the house where deputies lost sight of him in the woods. A charge evading arrest was added.
Public Intoxication — Jennifer Jordan, 37, of McKenzie, was charged with public intoxication on May, 24, 2024. Units were dispatched after receiving a call about a female jumping in front of traffic on Highway 105 in Trezevant. The Jordan was found walking on the center line of the highway and was covered in mud. Jordan had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. She appeared heavily intoxicated. She claimed to have been staying down the road but couldn’t give clear directions to the exact location. Jordan was cited for public intoxication and taken to Carroll County Jail.
Motor Vehicle Theft/Burglary/Breaking and Entering — William Eric Brewer, 55, of Huntingdon, was charged with motor vehicle theft, burglary, breaking and entering. On May, 24, 2024, Eric Brewer pulled into the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at a high rate of speed almost striking the building. He then went inside claiming that someone was trying to kill him. Once deputies arrived, they found that the vehicle he was driving was owned by Dennis Bush. After making contact with Mr. Bush, he stated that nobody should be driving the truck, and it should be parked inside his shop at Dunn Rd. Brewer stated that he stole the truck and shot someone at his residence. Deputies went to the residence and found the door standing open and noticed a 20-gauge shotgun on the floor, also found where he had fired a shot from the shotgun through the side door of his home striking the side part of his home. There were no signs that anyone was shot at the location. Deputies also found that the gate to Mr. Bush’s shop had been driven through, causing damage to the gate and his truck.
