From the Aug 12, 2025 e-EditionMEMPHIS, Tenn. — Graveside services for Shirley Connell are Monday, August 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Meridian Cemetery, Greenfield, Tenn.
Ms. Connell, 77, died at Methodist Germantown Hospital on Thursday, August 7, 2025. She worked for the state and federal government and was the author of Elvis, Man In My Backyard. She was born in Memphis on October 3, 1947, to the late Albert and Cecil Harrington Connell.
She is survived by her cousin, Beverly Ellis of McKenzie, and special friend, Debbie Brown of Memphis.
