MCKENZIE, Tenn. -The Bethel University Lady Wildcats signed softball standout Ashlyn Berkley recently. Ashlyn comes to Bethel from Jackson State Community College, having enjoyed an excellent prep career at South Gibson High School in Medina, Tennessee.
Ashlyn is the daughter of Steve and April Berkley and will major in Sports Medicine.
Berkley was a part of the SGHS team all four years and earned a starting position in her senior year. She started at JSCC in both seasons.
During her freshman season at Jackson State, Ashlyn earned a spot on the single-season leaderboard with 33 runs batted in.
Off the diamond, Ashlyn earned all-academic honors her senior year at SGHS and was named to the TCAA All-Academic Second Team at JSCC.
Berkley feels her biggest strengths are her determination, work ethic, and her love for the game.
Bethel Interim Director of Athletics Dave McCulley commented. “Ashlyn is an excellent student and a fine player. She will be a great asset to the program on and off the diamond. We are excited to have her as a Lady Wildcat and look forward to seeing her this fall.”
