Sweet Tea Festival is This Weekend
McKENZIE — The annual Sweet Tea Festival is August 20-23, 2026, in downtown McKenzie. The city-sponsored event features entertainment, arts and crafts booths, food trucks, car show, and a small carnival.
Both Broadway Street and Banner Row will close to accomodate the ever-growing number of vendors.
This year's event begins with the Carroll Arts' presentation of "A Southern Fried Funeral" theatrical production in the historic Park Theatre. The event is both Thursday, August 20 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, August 23 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the door of each performance.
On Friday, the food trucks and craft vendors roll in to downtown filling the streets and Veterans Memorial Park. Friday, the food and crafts are open 6 to 10 p.m.
Saturday, the events begin at 10 a.m. with food, crafts, and a carnival and other kids' activities.
A car show is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the McKenzie Banking Company parking lot.
A sweet tea taste-off is 2 to 4 p.m. on Broadway Street.
Free entertainment begins at 3 p.m. on Broadway Street on the big stage. Bethel University's Renaissance Bluegrass Band, performs 3 to 5 p.m. The accomplished musicians and vocalists are renowned for their talent.
Vonda Peet and Company performs 5 to 7 p.m.
Dek of Hearts performs 7 to 9 p.m. They performed on The Voice.
The Saturday events conclude with a fireworks show at 9 p.m.
