Theresa M. Taylor Upchurch

McKENZIE,  Tenn. —  Funeral services for Theresa M. Taylor Upchurch are Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 11 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery.

Mrs. Upchurch, 46 years old, died on May 11, 2026, at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital. She was employed as a CNA at Cherrywood Post Acute. Born on August 6, 1979, she was the daughter of Billy and Linda Woods Taylor.

She is survived by her husband, Rufus Upchurch, her children, Demarkeese (Kiarra) Nolen, Cassidy Clark, and Anaya Horton of Henry, two sisters, Shamira (Anthony) Haynes and Terrain (Julian) Howard, a brother, Michael (Yana) Townes, step-children, Tehya Hyte, Mikkiala Robinson, Dylan (Amanda) Upchurch and Brayden Upchurch, her father, Billy Taylor, two grandchildren, Creed Diggs and Braxton Harrison, and 7 step-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother, sister LaShaunda Taylor, and granddaughter Ainestine Horton.
