Thomas Atkins Harrington

Funeral services for Thomas Atkins Harrington, "Tommy", are Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Gleason Methodist Church with Bro. Alan Trull and Bro. Gene Price officiating. Burial will  follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday,   11 a.m. until the service hour. 

Mr. Harrington, 72, died at Jackson Madison County General Hospital on Saturday. May 18, 2024.

He owned and operated Tommy's Carpets. Mr. Harrington was a conversationalist, he loved to talk and cut up and he never met a stranger. He was born in Rutherford, Tenn. on July 31, 1951, to the late Leonard Harrington and Martha Nell Patterson. 

He is survived by his wife, Karen Gallimore Harrington of McKenzie; two sons, Troy Harrington and wife, Angie of Greenfield and Travis Harrington and wife, Andi of Greenfield; two stepdaughters, Brandy Houchin of Evansville, Indiana, and Jill Elohin of McKenzie; two brothers, Danny Harrington of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Nathan Harrington of McKenzie; three sisters, Collette Baker of Greenfield, Deborah Harrington of McKenzie, and Alice Smith of Greenfield. Other survivors include four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janette Bookout Harrington, father, Leonard Harrington, mother, Martha Neil Patterson and brother, Bobby Harrington.
