PARIS (May 27) — TJ Maxx opened its doors to the Paris community on Thursday, May 27, with a grand opening celebration — the first of many expected at the new Paris Crossing Shopping Center in the coming months.

Thursday morning’s grand opening included giveaways, music by DJ Good News, cheer and dance performances by the Henry County High School cheerleading squad, an employee fashion show featuring TJ Maxx’s top styles, and a $10,000 donation to the Carl Perkins Center of Henry County.

Paris Store Manager Tammy Vallery presented the $10,000 check donation to Carl Perkins Center Director Carly Wheat, who said the donation would help a lot of families in Henry County.

Vallery later shared with attendees that her career had come full-circle Thursday, as she managed Goody’s in Paris 21 years ago.

“This is like a coming home moment for me,” Vallery said, “and it’s so exciting to see that Paris, Tennessee, is still the friendly, welcoming city that it was years ago.”

TJ Maxx was the first shopping destination to open at the new Paris Crossing Shopping Center, which also houses Pet Smart, Five Below, Hobby Lobby, Aldi, Bath and Body Works, Dior Nail Salon, Rack Room Shoes, Ulta and Burlington.

Five Below held a soft opening Saturday, May 30. Five Below and Pet Smart are slated to host their grand opening events on June 6, and Hobby Lobby is scheduled to open in late June 2026.

The Paris Crossing Shopping Center is expected to be fully open by the end of the summer, but Aldi remains under construction.

TJ Maxx is located at 1935 Mineral Wells Avenue, Paris, and is open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. with new styles coming in every day.
