Unemployment Rate Slightly Increases in Tri-Counties
From the Jul 28, 2026 e-EditionNASHVILLE — Unemployment percentages increased in June 2026 in the tri-counties as compared to one month earlier, but showed a decrease in unemployment compared to one year earlier.
According to information released by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Tennessee recorded an unemployment percentage of 3.5 percent in June, down from the May rate of 3.6 and equal to the rate in June 2025.
In Carroll County, the unemployment percentage was 4.7in June, compared to 3.8 one month earlier and 4.9 one year earlier. From a labor force of 12,299, there were 11,716 employed and 583 unemployed.
Henry County reported an unemployment rate of 4.5 percent in June, compared to 3.8 one month earlier and 4.7 percent one year earlier. From a labor force of 13,071, there were 12,480 employed and 591 unemployed.
Weakley County reported an unemployment rate of 4.9 percent in June, compared to 3.8 one month earlier and 4.9 one year earlier. From a labor force of 13,665, there were 12,993 employed and 672 unemployed.
Unemployment rates increased in 94 of the 95 counties during June compared to May.
