War Eagles Fall to Falcons on the Road
From the Oct 7, 2025 e-EditionTIPTONVILLE (October 3) — The West Carroll War Eagles traveled to Lake County High School Friday for a region football contest. West Carroll struck first, but the host Falcons responded with six unanswered touchdowns for a 43-6 win.
The War Eagles scored late in the first frame on a 53-yard pass from Parker Newman to Braden Marise. The two-point conversion failed, and West Carroll led 6-0.
Lake County took the lead on the last play of the opening quarter, 7-6, and scored four more times in the first half and once in a quick second half.
War Eagle quarterback Parker Newman was one of four passing for 53 yards and a touchdown. Braden Marise had the 53-yard touchdown catch.
Chance Weatherford had five carries for 19 yards. Joseph Brogdon rushed eleven times for 18 yards. Caleb Vermillion had seven carries for 16 yards, and Nigel Butler rushed three times for ten yards.
Marise led the defense with two solo tackles and an assist. Brogdon and Eli Travelstead each had two solo, and Vermillion had one solo.
The War Eagles will travel to Gleason for another region game Friday. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
