West Carroll Honors August Eagles of the Month

ATWOOD – West Carroll Junior/Senior High School has announced its August Eagles of the Month, honoring individuals whose contributions reflect the values of leadership, service and school spirit.

Eighth-grade student Anastin McAlpin was named Student of the Month. McAlpin is known among peers and teachers as a dependable presence in the classroom and a positive influence on campus.

One teacher said, “Anastin is a true leader in the 8th grade. She always goes above and beyond, and we are so proud to have her with us!”

Jay Taylor, high school math teacher and head football coach, was selected as Employee of the Month. Colleagues noted his ability to create a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining high expectations for students, both in the classroom and on the field.

The Supporter of the Month honor went to Wendy Pinson for her active involvement in student events, including her work with Project Graduation and the Back to School Bash. Pinson has also supported events such as prom and other student-led initiatives, providing steady assistance and encouragement behind the scenes.

Dr. Adam Douglas said, “There have been many events and activities that Mrs. Pinson has helped with, including last year’s prom. She and Hannah both are all-hands-on-deck on many of the ‘extra’ things that make WC fun for all.”

The district extends its thanks to these individuals for their consistent contributions to the West Carroll community.
