West Carroll FFA Earns State Recognition at Convention

ATWOOD (March 27) — Fourteen members of the West Carroll High School FFA chapter traveled to Gatlinburg to attend the 97th Tennessee FFA State Convention, held March 23–26. The event brought together chapters from across the state for competition, recognition, and leadership development.
West Carroll FFA members earned multiple honors throughout the four-day convention. Seniors Hannah Fowler, Landon Hudgins and Nick Hudson were awarded the State FFA Degree—the highest recognition offered by the Tennessee FFA Association. The chapter was also named a Superior Chapter and received a 10% Membership Increase Award.
Individually, senior Hannah Fowler was recognized as one of the top three students in Tennessee for her Beef Cattle Production Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE). Freshman Carson Cooper was named a top three finalist statewide for his Forage Production SAE. Both were recognized as regional champions in their respective categories.
Additionally, Fowler, Joy Bryant, Elizabeth Hritz and Rylan Forrest competed in the state Agronomy Career Development Event, placing 13th out of more than 35 chapters—an impressive debut for the chapter in this contest.
West Carroll High School Principal Dr. Adam Douglas said, “These results highlight the strength of our agricultural education program. We’re proud of the students for representing our school and community at the state level.”
The Tennessee FFA State Convention is an annual event that recognizes achievement in agricultural education and provides leadership opportunities for student members across the state.

Paris Landing Arts and Crafts Festival is September 12-13
The 26th annual Paris Lakeway Kiwanis Club Arts and Crafts Festival at Paris Landing State Park features over 115 local and regional crafters displaying and selling their handmade and hand-crafted items.
