From the Jan 27, 2026 e-EditionMCKENZIE, Tenn.— Mr. William H Smith, 95, of McKenzie, Tennessee, died Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Cherrywood Post Acute.
Funeral services are 2:00 PM Saturday, January 31, 2026, in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Carroll Memorial Gardens with Brother Scott Carter officiating.
Mr. Smith was born February 13, 1930, in Carroll County, Tennessee, to the late G. Hulon Smith and Ruth Compton Smith. Preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Smith. He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Geniece (Larry) Shands; a son David (Sherry) Smith; grandchildren Amy (Jay) Pruett, Crystal (John) Winters, Nathan (Victoria) Smith; great-grandchildren Carson Pruett, Nolan Pruett, Kelsey Pruett, Mila Winters, Kenzie Winters and Beckett Smith; brother Larry (Joyce) Smith and brother-in-law Billy Joe Ellis.
