The McKenzie Garden Club met on Friday, October 28, at the Lakeside Senior Living Community and hosted by members Donna Herrin and Donna Hodge. Donna Hodge gave the devotional on the importance of speaking gently instead of in anger. Thirteen members answered the roll call and member, Mona Batchelor, introduced her guest, Karen Forester. Karen was the daughter-in-law of a former member, Willie Mae Forester, and is an avid gardener who recently moved to McKenzie with her husband, Mark.  more

McKENZIE (October 27) — Hospital Drive in McKenzie no longer includes a hospital, but there are still medical facilities, a new high-tech company, and a newly renovated headquarters for Carroll County Emergency Medical Services (EMS).  more
McKENZIE (October 29) — McKenzie Elementary School hosted its annual Fall Fest on Saturday, October 29 and generated approximately $24,000 for the school. MES Parent-Teacher Organization, faculty and other staff organized the event, which included silent auctions of merchandise donated by area merchants, teachers, and other community members, games for the kids, and costume contests. more

McKENZIE — Twin Oaks Buildings in McKenzie hosted a grand opening of the new business on Thursday, October 27 at 25335 Highway 22, across from Haven Steel, in the Henry County portion of McKenzie. more

HUNTINGDON (October 24) — Carroll County Chamber of Commerce honored businesses, organizations, and individuals during its annual Membership Banquet held at the Carroll County Civic Center on Monday, October 24. more
On the first Sunday in November, people across North America will adjust their clocks, turning them back one hour and thus returning Daylight Saving Time back to Standard Time. When spring arrives anew, the clocks once again will move forward an hour. This phenomenon has taken place for more than 50 years. more

The Bethel-Eastside Family and Community Education (FCE) group met on October 13 in the home of Mary and Pennye Mays with 10 members present. Hostess for the meeting was Gail Eubanks who presented the devotion. Roll call was answered using a favorite fall activity from childhood such as trick or treat, hay rides, making popcorn and the fair.  more
The Inglenook Book Club met Wednesday, October 12, at the Lakeside Senior Living Community in McKenzie with 17 members attending. Hostesses Gail Mack and Donna Ward graciously served apple and cherry cobbler along with ice cream, mixed nut medley and assorted beverages. more

McKENZIE — Senior Director of Athletics, Brad Chappell announced Friday at the Annual Jerry Wilcoxson Memorial Golf Tournament, Ricky Rosenjack is also being inducted into the Bethel Athletic Hall of Fame as a contributor. Rosenjack joins Alicia James and Leah Hensley Cripps in the class of 2022.  more
