Weakley County Schools is honored to celebrate Mr. Jeff Cupples, the incoming director of schools. Director Cupples has already hit the ground running in transitioning to the position with preparations to work alongside the School Board and current Director of Schools Randy Frazier, who is set to leave the role officially at the end of May. more
During the regularly scheduled McKenzie Special School District Board meeting June 15, the school board voted unanimously to approve the 2023-24 budget, proposed by Dr. Justin Barden, McKenzie’s new director of schools, and Brad Davis, the new school finance director. more
Carroll Arts’ annual creativity camp concluded Friday, June 30, with an end-of-the-week program where students showed parents and community members what they learned from the week’s drama, art, creative writing and music classes. more
McKENZIE (February 6) — Bob Jackson, president of Murray State University, was the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of McKenzie on February 6. Dr. Jackson spoke about the school’s efforts to start a veterinary school of medicine at the Murray, Kentucky-based university. more
HUNTINGDON (June 16) — Smokey Bear and members from the Tennessee Division of Forestry visited the Carroll County Library during their Summer Reading Program to teach children how to prevent wildfires. more
The Bethel University Renaissance program recently announced move-in dates for all incoming freshmen and returning students in the program. Also announced were Renaissance Theatre’s fall 2022 and spring 2023 productions. more

McKENZIE — This June, the Carroll County Humane Society began renovations, the first major changes made since moving into the building on Hwy 22 nine years ago. The remodel originally targeted replacing the floors, but it has since expanded to upgrading the dog kennels and repainting and adding new shelving in the cat rooms. more
