McKENZIE (January 3) — McKenzie High School kicked off 2025 with a pair of home basketball wins against West Carroll. The Lady Rebels had a strong first half en route to a 59-25 win, and the Rebels set the tone early in a 64-33 victory. more
McKENZIE (December 17) — McKenzie High School senior and three-sport standout Tate Surber will play football for the University of Tennessee at Martin. The reigning Class 1A Mr. Football made his decision official Tuesday with a signing ceremony in the MHS Theater. more
MARTIN (December 16) — The McKenzie High School Rebels traveled Monday to face Westview in a boys-only night of basketball. The Chargers jumped out to a big lead early and extended it in the third quarter en route to a 73-47 win. more
NASHVILLE (December 10) — McKenzie’s Tate Surber was honored as Mr. Football for TSSAA Class 1A schools in Tennessee. He was honored by the Tennessee Titans Foundation at Nissan Stadium on Tuesday, December 10 during a luncheon in which the honorees, parents, coaches, and members of the media attended. more
GREENFIELD (December 10) — McKenzie High School traveled to Greenfield Tuesday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady Rebels kept the game in reach into the fourth quarter, but the Lady Yellowjackets surged late to secure a 47-33 win. The Rebels pulled away down the stretch for an 82-48 victory. more
McKENZIE (December 12) — McKenzie High School hosted Riverside Thursday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady Rebels fell behind in the third, but stormed back to tie the game with two minutes left before falling 70-66. The Rebels had a narrow lead at the half, but exploded in the second half for an 86-56 victory. more
NASHVILLE (December 10) — McKenzie's Tate Surber was named TSSAA 1A Mr. Football for 2024 in a ceremony in Nashville on Tuesday, December 10. Surber navigated a field of candidates to be named semi-finalist, finalist and finally Mr. Football.  more
GLEASON (December 2) — Gleason Junior High hosted McKenzie Middle School Monday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady Rebels trailed by four at the half, but seized momentum down the stretch for a 38-35 win. The Bulldogs gradually built a lead throughout for a 32-21 victory. more
DECATURVILLE (December 6) — McKenzie traveled to Riverside High School Friday night for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady Panthers pulled away in the second quarter to top the Lady Rebels, 61-46. The Rebels rode an early lead to a 66-56 win. more
CAMDEN (December 3) — McKenzie High School traveled to Camden Tuesday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady Rebels trailed by four at the half, but took the lead in the third en route to a 47-42 victory. The Rebels had a two-point edge at the break, but the Lions rallied for a 60-52 win. more
NASHVILLE (November 26) — Finalists for the Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards were announced Tuesday. Included are McKenzie’s Tate Surber (Class 1A), Milan’s Jaydon Peete (2A) and Westview’s Graham Simpson (3A). more
JACKSON (November 26) — McKenzie High School traveled to Jackson Christian School Tuesday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady Rebels kept the game in reach until the Lady Eagles pulled away in the fourth for a 58-43 win. The Eagles built their lead in the second quarter en route to a 66-39 win over a six-man Rebel squad. more
MEMPHIS (November 29) — The McKenzie Rebels traveled to the Bluff City on Black Friday for a TSSAA Football Semifinal with a trip to the state championship on the line. They met the MASE Phoenix at Crump Stadium and stormed out to a 19-0 lead in the second quarter. more

BRADFORD (November 23) — McKenzie traveled to Bradford High School Saturday evening for a pair of Hall of Champions (preseason) contests. The Lady Rebels were dominant in their first win of the year, 56-26. The Rebels, still short-handed while football continues, fell 70-35. more
McKENZIE (November 21) — McKenzie High School hosted Stewart County for a pair of Hall of Champion (preseason) contests Thursday, their first of the year. more
McKENZIE (November 23) — McKenzie High School hosted Greenfield Saturday afternoon for a pair of Hall of Champions (preseason) contests. The short-handed Rebels picked up a gritty first win, 66-63, on the back of Carter Kee’s 33 points. The Lady Yellowjackets leaned heavily on the three for a 61-36 win over the Lady Rebels. more
